keeping your room organized effect study habits? If a student keeps their room
neat and well put together all day long, will they be prone to study more? When
someone has a clean room does that mean they are more likely to earn and
receive better grades? These questions I asked myself as I went into this immersive research project.
When entering college most students live in
dorms or somewhere on campus. It is most likely the first time that they have
their own place to live. They don’t have parents keeping an eye on them and
they aren’t told to do things such as clean their room or to study. Normally at
my house when I was in high school, I had to keep my room very neat and
organized. My parents were always on me about my room when I was at home, but being in college I
haven’t really cared as much. Of course, at the beginning of my first semester
I kept my room decently organized and well put together. Then as the semester
progressed I got lazy and didn’t do things like make my bed or put clothes
away. A little pile of clothes formed at the end of my bed. I took a lot of
naps in my first semester because my bed looked so comfy and it wasn’t made
yet. Another thing that ended up happening was my desk wasn’t really cleared
off to be able to work on it. This made me do more of my homework on my bed, which
made a bit more of a mess. This way of living made me wonder if I would get
more studying done with a more clean and organized room.
My room started to look like this...
So I decided to do a 30 days study, seeing if keeping my room clean and organized effected my daily life, such as study habits, mood, or just what I did during the day.
